Alcohol Store - it's all Greek to me!

Mike and I made a trip to the International Farmer's Market (see link in archives) tonight to check out some country-specific alcohol selections. I will say this now - I make NO guarantees about the quality of the alcohol we serve this year at Cafe Davis. I can't even read some of the labels, other than the country of origin, so... I'll be the first to admit that my selection criteria is all about judging a book by its cover (or a bottle of wine by its label!) This will undoubtedly be an adventure for all of us. I tried my best to give at least a vague varietal description on the menu for the wines, but I wasn't even able to do that 100% of the time. For instance, on Greek night we will be sharing a lovely bottle of wine that Illana and Jason brought back from their Hellenic adventure this past fall. I would tell you what it's called, but the label is in Greek. I would tell you what type of wine it is, but again, the label is in Greek. I did hold the bottle up to the light, however, and it appears to be a lovely dark red color. So, we know that much. I'm sure it will be delicious!

As far as the other preparations go, I sent the menu to Derrick tonight. Hopefully I'll be ready to send out invitations soon. I'm really looking forward to this year's festivities. I'll miss you all once we move. Sniffle sniffle.

But now is not the time for sentimentality - get your calendar ready to make a reservation soon!
