The menu is ready and the dates are set! Cafe Davis will be held this year from May 8th to May 30th. Then there will be a few days off while Mike goes to Kansas City. The gastronomical adventure will resume June 5th to June 9th... 28 countries in 28 days!!! Now, I must admit that there is a distinct possibility that scheduling conflicts will arise, given that June is our last month in Georgia. I'll do my best, but there may be times when we have to close up shop for some miscellaneous moving-related excuse. Therefore, I urge, urge, urge you to make reservations early!
Additionally, I have created a Google Group that will enable me to email blog updates directly to your inbox. That means no more having to remember to check on the Cafe Davis website to see what's going on. You'll be receiving a welcome email from Google Groups in the upcoming weeks, and then after that you will get blog postings automatically. If reading about food and looking at pictures isn't your style, you're more than welcome to unsubscribe from the group - the instructions will be in the welcome email. I do ask, however, that if you have a comment you'd like to make about Cafe Davis to please make it on the blog itself, and not via the Google Group. The blog can be easily accessed by going to www.cafedavis.com, or you can go to www.cafedavis.blogspot.com. Does that all make sense? If not, lemme know and I'll try to demystify this wacky world of technology for you.
I'll be emailing Derrick the menu soon, so that he can update the website. I need to swing by the alcohol store (ok, so that's not really what it's called) to check on the offerings from a few of the countries. Like last year, the beverage selection on the menu will be somewhat vague, but it will at least be narrowed down enough so that you know whether to expect beer, wine, or some other libation. Right now, though, I am a bit uncertain about whether Lebanese beer or wine is available, for example, so I need to go on a fact-finding excursion. I'll be in touch!
